Berry Gordy, the founded of Motown is now celebrating 50 years of classic Motown music. Formerly known as Tamal Records, Motown produced some of the greatest hits ever, and is one of the most successful music labels. From Marvin Gaye to the Temptations, Motown soulful music is still popular today.
The History of Motown
Originally based in Detroit, Motown Records was a big player in racial integration in the United States. And provided songs that had great crossover success. Did you know -- Berry Gordy was a songwriter before opening Motown Records.
