Why I Love Tyler Perry Movies and Plays
I love to watch movies, however some of my all times favorite are Tyler Perry movies and plays. Maybe because I can relate to the characters, or maybe because I know someone just like a character or two. Nevertheless, here is a list of my favorite Tyler Perry movies and/or plays.
Tyler Perry and Oprah Released Precious
Tyler Perry is still on the move with a new movie with Oprah called Precious. The movie Precious is based on a novel by Sapphire called Push. The film was originally title Push as the book and shown at the Sundance Film Festival. Sapphire a teacher from New York, taught in the New York school district for eight years prior to writing this book.
Diary of a Mad Black Woman
Out off all the Tyler Perry movies I love "Diary of A Mad Black Woman" the best. It's a love story and Woman empowerment story all in one. There are so many lessons in this movie I won't spoil it for you if you haven't seen it. The movie is 116 minutes long starring Kimberly Elise, Steven Harris, Shemar Moore, Cicely Tyson, and Tyler Perry as Madea.
Madea Goes To Jail
On the flip side "Madea Goes To Jail" is truly funny. There is plenty of down-home wisdom, and uplifting lessons in this movie. The movie is 133 minutes long starring Tyler Perry as Madea, Cheryl Pepsii Riley.
Why Did I Get Married?
I did not care for the movie much, however I loved the play. The movie seen to have too many singers - trying to act for me. The play "Why Did I Get Married" was much better and flowed more smoothly. However, the story line of love and the trails of marriage are in both the play and the movie. In the movie "Why Did I Get Married" you will miss Madea. Tyler Perry plays himself. The play on DVD is 131 minutes long.
Madea's Family Reunion
Another great movie by Tyler Perry. "Madea's Family Reunion" to me describes most black reunions. Two sisters with their own set of problems and a mother from hell. This movie has it's funny parts, but I would call it a drama. The movie is 110 minutes long starring Blair Underwood, Lynn Whitfield, Boris Kodjoe, Maya Angelou, Jennifer Lewis, Keke Palmer, Cicely Tyson and Tyler Perry as Madea.

I really enjoy Tyler Perry Movies, too. My husband and son laugh until they can't hear the movie anymore. I'm checking around to see if there are anymore movies from Perry that I have heard about.
I have seen many of Tyler Perry's plays and movies. However, I was really disappointed in "I Can Do Bad All By Myself"!! There was entirely too little of Tyler Perry playing the parts which is the reason I go to see his movies.
Thanks for the hub! I wrote one as well http://hubpages.com/hub/A-poem-for-Tyler-Perry?don
Have a great day!
My favorites are "Daddy's Little Girls" and "Family That Preys".
There have been issues about how stereotyping he writes but I guess looking beyond it, God is glorified. The way he writes and puts in the God-content is just so fluid! I like it! Planning to write reviews/lessons to learn from his movies and his TV shows...

Great hub, ysdata I love Tyler's work as well. I have not seen any of the live plays on once they were on DVD. I have heard great thing about them, I like the style and layout of his stories on the big screen.
