The Chicago Bears

The Bears are the professional football team of Chicago. As a member of the North division of the NFL (National Football League they have won nine championships, one of which was the superbowl.

The Chicago Bears come in second place to the Green Bay Packers with the number of championship wins, but they have the most team members inducted into the Hall of Fame. That's right, the Bears have 26 spots on the Hall of fame records.

The Bears started in 1919 near Chicago. The moved from Decatur, Illinois to Chicago in the early 20's. They are also hailed as one of two teams to still be playing since the inception of the NFL. The official Bear's home was at Wrigley's Field on the North side of Chicago until 1971. They now play at Soldier Field, which is next to Lake Michigan. Soldier field recently had a makeover, moderization it to accommodate state of the art technology. The Bears and the Packers are fierce rivals, which as been displayed in the 170 games they have played againt each other.

The Bears are own by Virginia McCaskey and family (80%), and Patrick Ryan & Andrew McKenna (19.7%). In recent news, the team is reported to be worth over $9 million dollars. It is the 7^th highest team in the NFL.

The Bear's mascot is the Staley Da Bear, but the teams has two unofficial mascots named "Rocky" and "Bearman". "Rocky" was an unknow fan who wear a Bears shirt and shout though a megaphone. "Bearman" is Don Wachter, an also a fan. Don reguarly run across the field with a Bears flag.
