More graduating high school seniors want to attend college and money should not stand in the way. Learn different ways to pay for college. Higher education is the most important thing you can do for your children. So, where is the money for college? Some free resources include: Scholarships, Employee Reimbursement, and Financial aid.

Scholarships - Most scholarships come with a set of criteria you must meet.  Some require an essay or the you live in a particular area.  Nevertheless, if you meet the criteria they give you free money.  Just this past week, my daughter was award a scholarship set-up by a reformer teacher of her school.

Employee Reimbursement - If your high school student already has a job, check with the employer to see if the company has a program to help with higher education.  Maybe, your employer (parent) has a program.

Financial Aid - The government has many assistance programs.  So, checking with the college financial aid office is a must.

Another great option for young student is for their parent's to set up a 529 plan.  A 529 plan is a saving account allot for higher education with tax incentives.

The bottom line is - higher education is too important in today's times.  Whether, you the parent can afford tuition or not does not remove that fact.  If you student wants to go to college there are many ways to get them there - even if it means taking out a loan.
