What Makes a Comedian great?
When polled many comedy goers list self-confidence, the ability to control the flow of their jokes, great stage present, a niche, and a sense of humor as the most important elements of a comedian.
Becoming a comedian is not always fun. Comedian has to learn timing, the prefect stage persona, patterns of speech, accepting rejection, and a host of other tools. Most comedians develop a unique style of their own, which sound hard to do.
When comedians are polled they believe wanted to get the laugh in the best quality. Many comedians hold a day job and work the stage at night. Comedians work long hours for little pay and suffer enormous uncertainly, never knowing where the next gig will be. The average comedian earns around $50 dollar for every two twenty-minute set.
After a comedian "pays their dues" works in the industry for a while 30% go on into acting. Others go on to commercial, teaching, or writing.
