As of late, I've been joining every social online group I can. The reason is simple. Networking Magic!
There are two sides of networking -- Online and Offline. Due to the demands of my business, I'm not always able to attend conferences or other networking events -- and when I do, how do you keep in connect with the vast major.
Well, online -- of course. With videos, email, video email, instant messaging and a host of other services, It is now possible to keep up with everyone.

Networking is an offline function too. Social networking sites are now attempting to go beyond the conventional, online-only services; but nothing takes the place of getting involved. Get involved in local business networking events. Effective way to enter offline social marketing -- Attend chamber of commerce events, lunch and learns, or happy hours for professionals to get involved with new circles of people with whom you can talk business and exchange advice.
